An iterative local correlation tracking method for high-accuracy wavefront sensing
ABSTRACT
Accurate wavefront sensing allows for the detection of minute deviations in the wavefront, which is essential for maintaining the precision required in various fields, particularly in optics, astronomy, and medical imaging. In the commonly used Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor or Talbot effect wavefront sensor, the sub-pixel registration algorithm is always used to improve the measurement accuracy up to sub-pixel scales. Here, we present an Iterative Local Correlation Tracking (ILCT) method to improve the measurement accuracy to the thousandth of a pixel level in just five iterations. Furthermore, the wavefront with a high accuracy of λ/80 Peak-to-Valley (PV) is experimentally verified.
