Bragg Coherent Modulation Imaging for Highly Strained Nanocrystals-A Numerical Study
ABSTRACT
Bragg coherent diffraction imaging (BCDI) is a powerful and unique method for tracking three-dimensional strain fields inside micro-sized crystals. While BCDI has been successfully applied to some scientifically important problems and holds high demands from the materials science community, the obtained results may be subject to some uncertainties for highly strained crystals. Here, we report our progress in improving the suitability of BCDI method for general samples by exploiting wavefront modulation. Extensive numerical simulations show significant improvements over the current method can be obtained. The new method shows high robustness to noise and fast convergence. Possible difficulties in implementing the method in experiment were also considered.
